Some of us want to spend time in cold place such as Tagaytay while others enjoying the summer season in the beach.
I haven’t been to Sky Ranch, the popular leisure park in Tagaytay. Aside from having fun in the Super Viking or whizzing through the air on the Zipline, I didn’t know that they also have dining options everyone can enjoy all year round.
Whether you crave for a slice of pizza, a juicy burger, or a taste of bulalo and other Filipino favorites, there are a number of dining options to choose from, from fast-food and casual dining restaurants to family-style outlets. No matter your craving, you’ll find a restaurant to satisfy your appetite. Your choices are endless with Rue Bourbon, Downtown and Red Engine Diner, Mesa, Kusê, Uncle Cheffy, Leslie’s Restaurant, Kenny Rogers Roasters, KFC, Tokyo Tokyo and Krispy Kreme or get your essentials from 7 Eleven.
For a foodie place that’s perfect for the whole family, Rue Bourbon offers a variety of platter meals that the whole family will enjoy. Pride of place is its baby back ribs, a whole slab of tender beef ribs that is good for sharing. It comes with your choice of sidings, including corn on the cob, jambalaya rice, and mac and cheese. Other choices include the seafood platter, a hearty meal of shrimp, calamari, mussels, and fish slices; wings platter, chicken wings served in a variety of ways; and Soulfood Platter, a selection of Cajun favorites including fried chicken, barbecued ribs and sausages. It also has a selection of smoothies and mocktails to help you cool down after a thrilling ride.
Downtown and Red Engine Diner
Those who want diner fare would find much to chow on at Downtown and Red Engine Diner. Enjoy their selection of pizza, pasta, burgers and sandwiches in an American diner setting.
For a taste of innovative cooking, Mesa at Sky Ranch serves Filipino dishes with a twist that diners have come to expect from its restaurants in the city. It offers a full menu, including delectable appetizers, soups, tasty entrees and grilled items that highlight choice meat and fresh seafood, as well as yummy desserts and specialty drinks. And just like its outlets in the city, Mesa at Sky Ranch delivers the best dining experience to its guests, with its freshly cooked dishes, and friendly and attentive waitstaff.
If you are looking for something home-cooked, Kusê serves Filipino favorites in a cozy local setting. All the dishes are freshly prepared by its staff of experienced kusineros, or kuse as the Tagalogs call them. All-time fiesta favorites, such as lechon baka, kare-kare, beef ribs sinigang, bagnet, crispy pata, and bulalo soup, are available. Those who are looking for seafood should choose from inihaw na bangus, stir-fried shrimps, seafood tinola and fried pla-pla.
Children wanting a slice of pizza or spaghetti will find food heaven at Uncle Cheffy. Aside from its best-selling brick-oven panizza and barbecue platters, the restaurant is also known for its slow-cooked dishes, such as its New England pot roast beef, and garlic-studded pork belly lechon. For its Sky Ranch outlet, it has designed a special menu that could be shared by the whole family.
For a taste of a Tagaytay institution, try Leslie’s Restaurant. Known for its bulalo and other local dishes, everything is cooked fresh and served hot from the kitchen. Yes, the servings are generous, with each order big enough for the whole family.
Kenny Rogers Roasters
Should you crave for good old roast chicken, Kenny Rogers Roasters has brought its famous Classic Roast Chicken to Sky Ranch. All the goodies that you enjoy at its restaurants are available here, from roast chicken, salads, sides and muffins. And if you are dining with your barkada or the family, its group meals removes the guesswork, since it comes with all of Kenny Rogers favorites.
If it’s fried chicken you are looking, you won’t have to go far than KFC. After enjoying the rides at Sky Ranch, you can indulge in its “simply, so good” chicken meals. If it’s just a quick snack you are looking for, or you want to chow down on finger lickin’ good chicken, KFC has something for you.
For quick Japanese meals, Tokyo Tokyo serves its delicious menu, including prawn tempura, Japanese-inspired burgers and honey chicken teriyaki. Its Sumo Meals are perfect for sharing so that the whole family can enjoy their stay. Complete your meal with Tokyo Tokyo’s signature Red Iced Tea to freshen you up after enjoying an adrenaline-pumping ride.
If you just want a quick filling snack while keeping an eye on the kids, grab some doughnuts and coffee at Krispy Kreme. Its selection of Original Glazed and iced and filled doughnuts will satisfy those with a sweet tooth.
For any last minute needs, whether it is a bottle of mineral water, a can of soda or a bag of chips, 7-Eleven offers the shopping convenience you expect from all its branches.
Apart from restaurants, there are a number of food carts throughout Sky Ranch that offer a quick bite as you walk around the park and plan your next ride. Stores include Potato Corner, Swigz Pearl Coolers, Happy Waffle, Buko Twix, Master Siomai, Dogs in D’ Ranch, Kettle Corn, and Bibingkinitan.
All dining outlets are open during park hours, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Sky Ranch is along Aguinaldo Highway, Tagaytay City. It is located just beside Taal Vista Hotel.
