Gadget review: Sleek Bluboo S1, S8 mobile phone

Any plans to get a new mobile phone? Last November, Chinese mobile brand Bluboo launched their S1 and S8. Maybe some of you have some doubts when it comes to a phone made in China but though my expectations with these phones met when I tried it for the past few weeks.

Bluboo S1 is perfect for those gamers out there. When my brother tried it out for a mobile game, he floored over the quality of it. It has 8mp front camera and 16mp + 3 mp dual rear camera. With the market price of Php 8,399 for S1, you can do multitasking using this sleek phone.

Bluboo S1 Specs:

  • 2.5GHz MediaTek Helio P25 octa-core CPU
  • Mali-T880 GPU
  • 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display with 2.5D Curved Gorilla Glass 4
  • 64GB storage (expandable up to 256GB)
  • 16MP + 3MP Dual Rear Camera w/ Dual LED Flash
  • 8MP Front Camera
  • 4G LTE Cat 6
  • Dual Hybrid Nano Sim
  • WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0
  • Fingerprint scanner, Gyroscope, USB Type-C
  • Android 7.0 Nougat
  • 3,500 mAh battery with Fast Charging

Meanwhile, for Bluboo S8, I love the quality of their video and some features using their camera. Last Saturday, I used it during Incubus’ 8 Tour at Araneta Coliseum. When I found out that my official photographer was tapped by the Incubus management, S8 helped me a lot taking photos and videos in the moshpit and captured the band.

I like Bluboo S8’s black and white feature on their camera. It was lit…I was struggling taking photos during that night but when I switched the option for it, I stunned over the result.

Bluboo S8 Specs:

  • 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6750T octa-core CPU
  • Mali-T860 GPU
  • 3GB RAM
  • 5.7-inch HD+ 18:9 IPS display
  • 32GB storage (expandable up to 256GB)
  • 13MP + 3MP Dual Rear Camera w/ Dual LED Flash
  • 8MP Front Camera
  • 4G LTE Cat 6
  • Dual Hybrid Nano SIM
  • WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0
  • Fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C
  • Android 7.0 Nougat
  • 3,450 mAh battery with Fast Charging

S8 is priced at Php 7,999
