Our country has a wide variety of tourist destinations. Like Baguio, Cebu, Davao and other scenic places that foreign visitors is in awe of our natural wonders of the Philippines. A lot of people didn’t know that one of the breaktaking places in our country today is located in the Visayas region.


I’ve been planning to have a vacation in this beautiful island of Panglao. My sister told me that it was a great place to relax and enjoy outdoor activities.

Bohol is well known for Chocolate Hills and Philippine Tarsier. But there’s a lot of beach resorts in Bohol and most of them are situated in Panglao.

Panglao is located southwest of TagbilaranCity, and also known for their astonishing beaches like Alona Swiss Resort, and Eskaya Beach Resort and Spa. You can also visit Experience Bohol’s website for the complete list of beach resorts in Panglao.


Travel by air and land

Manila to Tagbilaran

Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, AirPhil Express and Zest Air have daily flights to Tagbilaran. It is an hour and a half flight from Manilato Tagbilaran and vice versa. From the airport, you will take 15-30 minutes travel by car. And some of the resorts in Panglao has free pick-up from the airport to the resort.

But if you plan it ahead of time, book a flight months before your vacation with your family. Airline companies have airfare promos throughout the year, which you can avail low prices.

Cebu to Tagbilaran

There are daily flights from Cebu to Tagbilaran and vice versa by Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, Zest Air and AirPhil Express. It will took you an hour and 15 minutes landing to TagbilaranAirport. Twenty (20) minutes by car from CebuMactanAirportto Cebu Seaport Terminal. You can choose from Supercat or Oceanjet, in which they have daily transfer from Cebu Seaport to Tagbilaran Seaport. From Tagbilaran Seaport, 15-30 minutes travel by car going to the resort.

Airline fare ranges from 1,300 to 1,700 per pax (one-way).  Ferry fare is around 500 per pax.

Where to go around Panglao:

Located in Panglao. It has guided tour for 20 pesos that will take around 30mins. It highlights many aspects of the Bee Farm and its use of totally natural organic processes to grow vegetables and a wide variety of herbs and spices. And they have homemade icecreams at Buzz Shop which it costs 60 pesos per cone for 2 scoops…not bad for a delicious snack.

With farm activities includes farm tour, Raffia Making, Marine Sanctuary tour, Hilot/Spa, and Diving that you and your family will surely enjoy while you’re in Panglao.


Baclayon Church

The Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception in Baclayon is 15 minutes away from Panglao. It is considered to be one of the oldest churches in the Philippines. And it is best preserved Jesuit build churches in the Visayas region,. In the 19th century, the Augustinian Recollects added a facade and a number of stone buildings that surrounded the church. The steel arch buildings was finished in 1891.

Hopefully, I would have a vacation in this captivating island of Panglao…go island-hopping and chillaxin.
