Earlier this afternoon, comedian Sammy Lagmay passed away after battling with an illness for the past three years. He was 55.
According to his sister, Mylene Lagmay-Mariano, he died at his home in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan at around 3 p.m.

He is survived by his wife and their children, who are all based in the United States.
The wake for the actor-comedian will be held at St. Peter Chapels, Novaliches in Quezon City.
In his entire career, he was visible on television with his appearances in sitcoms such as “Pilya En Da Pilot,” “Oki Doki Doc,” “Pwedeng-Pwede,” “Aalog-Alog”,”Abangan ang Susunod na Kabanata” and “OK Fine Whatever”, which he took the role of assistant director.
He started his showbiz career as a messenger and a utility personnel at IBC-13 in the 1980s. Then he accepted various stints as a film extra before he landed a role in “Chicks to Chicks.”
In 2010, he was suffered a complications from diabetes, in which were initially left untreated due to financial problems.
