Google Philippines and Ayala Malls announced the launch of YouTube Lounge, the first YouTube-branded space where mall-goers can make the most of their YouTube mobile experience. YouTube enthusiasts can stay at the YouTube Lounge to watch faster-loading videos through Accelerator. The YouTube Lounge also serves as a dedicated space for fans to meet their favorite YouTube creators on scheduled meet and greets.

“Filipinos watch videos at 75 minutes per session on mobile, and they are increasingly spending more time on their smartphones. The YouTube Lounge is our way of recognizing the need of our users to access their favorite videos even while on the go,” shares  Gabby Roxas, country marketing manager of Google Philippines.

“At the YouTube Lounge, mall-goers can access Accelerator to enjoy their videos on their smartphone at no extra charge,” explains Gabby.  Accelerator works through free wi-fi at Ayala Malls, which allows you to enjoy the most popular videos on YouTube with less buffering.

The YouTube Lounge is sponsored by Ayala Malls and will open in the following malls on these dates:

  • Greenbelt – September 29

  • UP Town Center – October 6

  • Glorietta – October 13

  • TriNoma – October 26

  • Market! Market! – November 9

  • Alabang Town Center – November 16

Mall goers can expect to see additional YouTube lounges in other Ayala Malls nationwide like Taguig, Fairview, Pampanga, Subic, Nuvali, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu and Davao, sometime during year-end.

Fans can also meet their favorite YouTube creators at these lounges during scheduled Meet and Greets:

  • October 8: Janina Vela and Wil Dasovich at UP Town Center

  • October 15: Team Kramer at TriNoma

  • October 29: Kristine Roces, Say Tioco, and Clara Benin at Glorietta

  • November 12: Erwan Heussaff, Mikey Bustos, and Chris Cantada at Greenbelt

  • November 26: Lloyd Cadena, Anne Clutz, and Boogieboy at Market! Market!

  • December 10: Bogart the Explorer, Ralph Jay and Joyce Sola at Alabang Town Center

“We’re grateful that Ayala Malls joined us in our commitment to make the local YouTube ecosystem even more enjoyable by helping us provide seamless access to content and to YouTube creators,” added Gabby.
