The government must supported billiards because there’s a lot of potential in this field. With a proper training and funds, we can created new champions in this kind of sports.
The Villar Foundation spearheaded by Senator Manny Villar and Las Pinas Representative Cynthia Villar in 1992. They decided to put up Villards Cup in 2008. Their objective is to gather talented amateur players and play with pioneer billiards champion.
One of the foundation’s advocacies is the sports development throughout the country. With their sports programs like Sports sa Barangay, football clinics, and other activities that a lot of people, most especially the younger generation will benefit this program . Villar Foundation also organized this kind of sports competition in major key cities in the country.

During the 1st day of the said tourney,well known billiard legends Efren ‘Bata’ Reyes, Francisco ‘Django’ Bustamante, Ronnie ‘The Volcano’ Alcano and Dennis ‘Robocop’ Orcollo played an exhibition game.
The next day, they played along with Villards Cup 2012’s champion Edgie Geronimo who hailed from Marilao and 2nd placer Eduardo Lim of Meycauayan.
The Villards Cup is a project of the Villar Foundation, in collaboration with Starmall, Puyat Sports and Billiards Managers and Players Association of the Philippines.
